Junior Livestock event brings in more than $76,000 in premiums

The goat brought $12.50 a pound and was purchased by Gerald Crossland at auction. The event was held Friday. Dillard won the showmanship awards in both the cattle and goat divisions earlier this week. Going once! Going twice! Sold to the highest bidder: another successful junior livestock auction at the Union County Fairgrounds. With 38 young sellers making laps around the auction pen before a large crowd of enthusiastic buyers Friday afternoon, the 34th Annual Junior Livestock Show and Sale, sponsored by the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce and Lion Oil, generated more than $76,000 in premiums, beating last year’s sale by over $6,000.
