An omnibus hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 2 in the case of James Clemons, who is charged with capital murder in the 1992 slaying of Billy Ponder.

The hearing was set Thursday in Union County Circuit Court by Judge Hamilton Singleton.

Clemons is also charged with the aggravated robbery of Ponder, who was found stabbed to death in his flower shop.
