“An Evening of One Acts” will be held at the South Arkansas Arts Center at 7 p.m. Friday. The evening will include two one-act plays that were part of the Humana Festival held at the Actors’ Theatre in Louisville, Ken., and an original one-act by local playwright, Alex Jeffery, according to Darrin Riley at the arts center. One-act plays concentrate on the words of the text, more than big set pieces and tons of props and costumes. One-acts are normally 10 to 30 minutes in length and offer the audience a more intimate understanding of the playwright’s intentions, Riley said.
