William M. Rodman, who served as mayor of El Dorado from 1975 to 1978, died Wednesday at his home. He was 96.

Mayor Mike Dumas said Thursday that he would miss Rodman’s humor and wisdom and noted that the former mayor served the city well during tough economic times.

“Bill Rodman was a highly respected businessman who found himself in the mayor’s office,” Dumas said. “For that period in the City of El Dorado’s life, a conservative mayor like Bill Rodman was exactly what this community needed.”
