FARMERVILLE, La. – An inmate who was set for trial Monday in the death of Precious Annalee Story, 18, of Bernice, La., is believed to have hanged himself in the Union Parish Detention Center.

Jamie Martez Jackson, 26, who was arrested in Magnolia last fall, was being held on a charge of second degree murder in Story’s death.

Union Parish Sheriff Bob Buckley said Wednesday that his office was notified of the apparent suicide early Wednesday.
