The South Arkansas Arts Center has announced that Alex Jeffery has been chosen as the recipient of the 2008 Dennis James Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship recipient must exhibit a love for the performing arts of music or theatre and be an active participant in those pursuits with a pledge to make a life-long contribution and commitment to the arts in their community.

Jeffery is the son of Barry and Rosalind Jeffery and is currently a sophomore at the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
