The cause of a residential fire that occurred early Sunday morning, that resulted in an estimated $26,000 in damage and killed three cats, was undetermined, an El Dorado Fire Department report said.

Firefighters were called at 6:16 a.m. in reference to a fire at a duplex at 422 W. Block. Firefighters said flames were visible in the apartment on the west side of the duplex and they brought the fire under control a couple of minutes after they arrived on the scene.

None of the tenants were injured in the blaze.
