The El Dorado-Union County Recreation Complex could be in danger of losing a matching grant to build new softball fields, the facility’s board of directors were told on Thursday.

Board chairman Ken Blackmon said an ordinance adopted Thursday by the Union County Quorum Court prohibiting oil, gas or other mineral production on county property that is planned for public use did not pass muster with an agent from the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, who awarded the $175,000 grant.
