After considerable discussion Tuesday, a committee formed to study annexation for El Dorado recommended that the matter be tabled until the city received a petition from Union County residents who want to be annexed into city limits.

During a meeting in City Hall, Scott Ellen, chairman of the annexation committee, said no compelling arguments in favor of annexation had been presented, and he made a recommendation to that effect.
