The El Dorado City Council approved two funding requests Thursday to back several economic development projects that were presented by the El Dorado Economic Development Board.

However, the council’s approval did not come without some discussion and at least one dissenting vote. The council voted 7-1 on both requests, with Alderman Vertis Mason casting the lone “no” vote.
