The denial of an appeal last month against permits for the Ouachita River wastewater pipeline project has strengthened the resolve of those who oppose the project to continue their fight against it.

On June 27, the Arkansas Pollution Control and Ecology Commission denied an appeal filed by environmental groups in Arkansas, including Save the Ouachita, Inc., and Louisiana and the state of Louisiana in protest of a package of permits for the pipeline project that were issued by the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality.
