A domestic disturbance turned deadly over the weekend when a wife apparently shot and killed her husband who was physically harming the pregnant woman.

Union County Sheriff Ken Jones said the incident happened around 10:30 Saturday night at 5708 Magnolia Highway (U.S. 82). Deputies responding to the original call found Roger Gates, 47, inside. He had been shot with a small caliber weapon.
