Local detective graduates from crime scene program
![]() Detective Catherine Phillips of the El Dorado Police Department, third from left, recently graduated from the Crime Scene Technician Certificate Program at the Criminal Justice Institute, University of Arkansas System. Handing Phillips a graduation certificate are, from left, James T. Clark, director of the CJI, Dr. Cheryl May, assistant director and Sen. Mary Anne Salmon. Phillips has been with the EPD for 14 years. She completed the intensive, six-month program by attending a three-day course each month, from January to June, at the CJI. The program consists of 133 hours of classroom instruction and covers major aspects of crime scene investigation, such as crime scene photography, latent print procession, impression evidence...
