Fantastic Fourth activities will begin at 7:30 a.m. today in downtown El Dorado with the First Financial Bank Firecracker 5K run and fun walk. Registration is $20 today.

Events will continue at 6 p.m. today at the Union County Fairgrounds Activity Building, with the annual Union County Animal Protection Society Patriotic Pet Show.

There will also be food and craft vendors at the fairgrounds, located at the intersection of 19th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Live entertainment will begin at 7 p.m. and will be provided by a local band, L-Boogie. ...
