El Dorado and Union County received a total of $56,250 in grants from the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, according to Gov. Mike Beebe.

The grants will be used for historic preservation projects for restoration on municipal buildings and a nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.

The AHPP awarded a total of $2,048,177 in grants for projects in 35 Arkansas counties through its County Courthouse Restoration Subgrant, Historic Preservation Restoration Grant, Certified Local Government Grant and Documentary Media Grant programs.
