Huttig author earns awards



LITTLE ROCK- Huttig author Jim Barton attended the 64th annual Arkansas Writers’ Conference on June 6 and 7 at the Little Rock Hilton. The conference is sponsored by the National League of American Pen Women Pioneer Branch.

Barton came home with 10 awards including four for poetry, three for fiction and three for nonfiction.

He won the top prize in fiction and was second in nonfiction. Phyllis Waldron, an El Dorado writer, won second place in the Humane Society of Pulaski County contest for an essay.
