The Union County Election Commission met Friday to certify the votes from the May 20 preferential primary elections.

In all, 7,529 registered voters cast their ballots in Union County.

Commissioners also discussed the runoff election in the District 7 house of representatives race between Garry L. Smith and Yancey Kyle.
