Soon, local skaters will be able to add new, gravity-defying tricks and stunts to their repertoires.

Work is under way at Bodenhamer Skate Park to repair existing skateboard structures and to add some new features, Mayor Mike Dumas said.

The repairs came in response to complaints from skaters that the structures at the 10-year-old park have deteriorated and skating on the same structures every day had become, well, boring.
