A 63-year-old Norphlet man drowned on Sunday at Lake Chicot after falling out of his boat during a fishing trip, authorities in Chicot County confirmed on Wednesday.

Chicot County Office of Emergency Services Director Mike Morgan said Don Fletcher was alone at the time and was not wearing a life preserver.

Morgan said someone saw Fletcher fall out of his boat at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, but the witness was unable to reach Fletcher in time to help.
