Stiff taxes levied by state said to be reducing funding designated for worthy causes

How do you spell bingo?

T-A-X-E-S.

Or, at least, that’s the response you might get from local bingo operators, all of whom agree that the stiff taxes levied on bingo faces (sheets with several Bingo cards) and equipment are reducing the funding designated for worthy causes.

Emergency Rule 2007-4, which, under Act 388, legalized bingo and raffles as of July 31, 2007, includes an excise tax of one cent “upon the sale of each bingo face” and an excise tax of 10 percent on the sale of all other bingo equipm...
