‘We owe them the deepest gratitude ...’Area residents honor sacrifice of military personnel during ceremonies on Memorial Day
About 150 adults dressed in red, white and blue hugged the bits of shade and the occasional breeze on the east side of the Union County Courthouse at 11 a.m. Monday to honor those who served in the military in the past and present. Later, about 40 gathered at 2 p.m. in the brick-lined Kennedy Park in downtown Smackover for a community Memorial Day service. In El Dorado, Wayne Culver, commander of the local John C.
