CAMDEN - Freedom is not free.

That’s the message local historian Robert Dodson wants to deliver during the unveiling of a memorial to three Camden recipients of the nation’s second highest military honor, the Distinguished Service Cross. The tribute begins at 10 a.m. Monday, Memorial Day, on the lawn of the Ouachita County courthouse.

U.S. Army Sgt. Ralph Atkinson, Cpl. Charles Garr and Sgt. Artis Breland will be honored by the Ouachita County War Memorial Commission. All are deceased.
