Aldermen agree to hire law firm to move ahead with land acquisitions



The El Dorado City Council agreed Thursday to hire a law firm to move forward with land acquisitions for the proposed multipurpose conference center.

Aldermen took the recommendation of the El Dorado Economic Development Board to go with the state’s largest law firm, Friday, Eldgredge, and Clark, of Little Rock.

Mayor Mike Dumas said seven property owners within the city block surrounded by South West Avenue, Locust, South Washington, and a proposed Wesson Street eastward extension will be affected by the conference center project.
