The Union County Salvation Army will hold a press conference at 12:15 p.m. on Friday at the Salvation Army office, 419 S. Madison, to make a surprise announcement, said Captain Donnie Marvels, director.

Speakers at the event will be Madison Murphy of the Murphy Foundation, Alexis Alexander, executive director of the United Way of Union County and Linda Hayes, advisory board chairman. Other speakers will include El Dorado Mayor Mike Dumas, Smackover Mayor Bobby Neal, Huttig Mayor Larry Hodge and Strong Mayor Darrell Howell.
