The family and friends of the late Zachary Bruce Thomey, who died on May 14 of congenital heart disease, have created a memorial scholarship with the Union County Community Foundation, according to UCCF Director Elise Drake.

Thomey was a 17-year-old junior attending Junction City High School at the time of his death. He was the son of son of Stephen and Kim Thomey.
