Two candidates in the three-man Democratic Preferential Primary race for State Representative, District 7, will face each other in a runoff on June 10, according to unofficial results compiled in Tuesday’s election.

Garry L. Smith garnered 2,497 votes (49 percent), surpassing one of his opponents, Yancy Kyle, by 686 votes. However, Smith did not get the 75 additional votes he would have needed to avoid a runoff election against Kyle.
