Hazel Hogue Stephens recently celebrated her 90th birthday with a party at the home of her granddaughter and her husband, Phena and Mike Loftin.

For 61 years, she was married to her husband, the Rev. A.L. Stephens, who died on Aug. 30, 2004. She spent most of those 61 years serving as a pastor’s wife.

She was born “in the bottoms of Strong on May 2, 1918,” according to Phena Loftin.
