Each political season it has been a tradition here at the News-Times, as it is with many newspapers across the country, to endorse political candidates. Sometimes we endorse candidates in every race, sometimes in just a few.

For the past few days, we’ve run endorsements for sheriff, county clerk and District 7 State House. In our opinion, the candidates we’ve endorsed in those races are clearly the best people for the job. There are several other races that merit attention, but we’ve had difficulty coming to a conclusion about who will be the best candidate for various reasons.
