• Donny E. Smith, 23, of 1114 E. Pecan, was arrested Tuesday for second-degree battery on a police officer. El Dorado police said they took Smith into custody for obstruction of governmental operations during a traffic stop in the area of Norsworthy and Hawthorne. Police said that once they arrived at the Union County jail, Smith refused to enter a holding cell, and as officers tried to force him inside, he punched an El Dorado police officer several times in the face with his fist.
