NORPHLET – The Norphlet City Council accepted the resignation of Alderman Murray Williams during its regular session Monday night.

Williams will be moving to Northwest Arkansas. Harvey Brown was named as his replacement, and will carry out the rest of the current term.

According to Mayor Jim Crotty, the council also discussed upgrading water lines and check valves, as well as putting new tin siding and a roof on a utility shed near one of Norphlet’s water wells.
