Lawrence Hicks, an El Dorado native and 15-year Air Force veteran, was recently promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel.

Hicks, a logistics readiness officer, is a 1988 graduate of Union High School. He completed his undergraduate degree at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston and received his military commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps.
