State senator speaks on issues at meeting of local Civitan Club



District 25 State Sen. Gene Jeffress stopped Thursday in El Dorado for a stump speech at the Civitan Club — even though he’s running unopposed this election year.

And for that, he said, “I’m honored. It’s very humbling not to have an opponent, and it’s humbling to know there is some respect here. I promise you I have that same respect for my district.”
