As of 5 p.m. Wednesday, 510 Union County residents had cast early ballots at the Union County Clerk’s Office for the Primary Election set for May 20.

A programming glitch caused minor problems on the first day of early voting in the preferential primary and nonpartisan general elections.

The El Dorado Ward 4 positions 1 and 2 aldermen races were incorrectly entered into one of the city voting machines, according to Union County Election Commission Chairman Randy Haynie, and “a decision was made to take both machines off-line and switch to paper ballots.” Log-In to view full story or view our Registration Guide.
