It started out as just an idea, but when “Mr. S” talked to a fellow teacher about his plan, students, teachers, parents and the community stepped forward to make his idea a reality.

Sekou Sangare, who teaches French at Washington Middle School, had a dream to provide 300 pencil packs – filled with ink pens, erasers, sharpeners, crayons, metric rulers and, of course, pencils – to children in his home country of Burkina Faso in Africa.
