An effort to tighten up enforcement of the city’s downtown parking ordinance will go into effect May 1, the El Dorado Department of Public Works announced this week.

Downtown parking code enforcement officer Reecia Carr said compliance with the three-hour time limit for parking in controlled zones and payment of tickets issued for the violation has become lax, and the city is working to remind citizens about the ordinance and step up enforcement.
