The El Dorado Parks and Playgrounds Commission received preliminary cost estimates Tuesday for the city’s master parks plan.

A cumulative cost estimate of nearly $5.5 million is based on conceptual designs that commissioners received in February and includes improvements to seven city parks.

The concepts, if approved, would provide seven city parks – Mattocks, Mellor, Mitchell, Mosby, Neel, Oakhurst and Old City – with themes to establish their own identities.
