Union County water customers will see a slight change in their bills after April 30 — a 24-cent-per-1,000 gallon change.

The Union County Water Conservation Board (UCWCB) voted unanimously on Wednesday to suspend the water conservation tax, which generates more than $1 million in revenue each year, effective at the end of the month.

The tax suspension was approved with the provision that it can be reinstated should the water board’s coffers fall too low.
