BERNICE, La. - Several citizens were on hand to give views and opinions at the request of Mayor Joe Hicks at the Bernice Town Council meeting on April 8, according to Diane Smith, assistant clerk.

Union Parish Chamber of Commerce President Ricky Albritton informed the council that Clean Up Day for Union Parish will be held on May 3. Albritton asked that the Town of Bernice participate, and also asked for support in getting Union Parish designated as a Certified Retirement Community.
