Charges were filed Wednesday in the Union County Circuit Clerk’s Office by 13th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Robin Carroll against Larry D. Slaughter, 63, of Downsville, La., for Forgery II.

Slaughter was arrested in March by the Greene County, Miss., Sheriff’s Office, after a routine traffic stop in Leakesville, Miss. A warrant had been issued for Slaughter’s arrest in late January after Marcilla Echols of Dallas, alleged that he failed to fulfill a contract with her family on a timber purchase.
