The cafeterias of several Union County schools have received recent inspections, said Ashley Nale, Arkansas Department of Health environmental health program specialist for the Southwest Region.

To ensure that cafeterias participating in federally funded school meal programs are operating at the approved health standards, the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 stipulates that “schools in these programs have to be inspected at least twice a year, and the results must be made publicly available.”
