The Junction City Police Department arrested a 17-year-old Junction City, La., man on Wednesday for attempted murder.

Antonio Alderson, who is considered a juvenile in Arkansas but is an adult in the eyes of Louisiana law, allegedly shot Halvin Boone, 49, of Junction City, La., twice before fleeing to Arkansas.

Boone was taken to the Tri-Ward Hospital in Bernice, La., by an acquaintance and was later transferred to the Louisiana State University Hospital at Shreveport, La. His condition is unknown.
