Author visits El Dorado for a taste of the South

Contributed Photo Author Dwight Fryer poses with the first of his two books in a trilogy of historical novels based in the south.

EL DORADO – It was a working vacation for Dwight Fryer and his wife Linda of Memphis, Tenn.

He worked, she vacationed. Dwight Fryer came to El Dorado to work on the third book in his trilogy of books set in the South. Fryer spent all day Thursday at the Museum of Natural Resources in Smackover researching the history of the oil boom and associated businesses.

Before he left Fryer planned to become well acquainted with the folks, the food, the flora and fauna of southern Arkansas to lend authenticity to the book.
