Lawrence Mitchell, 62, of El Dorado, was killed Tuesday after his pickup truck barreled head-on into a tree on Seven Brothers Road, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office. Police suspect Mitchell may have fallen asleep.

The accident happened at 6:12 p.m. approximately 4/10 of a mile from Arkansas 7; Mitchell lived nearby at 503 Padgett St. in Norphlet, according to an Arkansas State Police report.
