Benny Vestal announced Monday his intention to seek re-election for Union County Justice of the Peace, District 9. He is running in the Democratic primary on May 20.

He is a 1972 graduate of Fairview High School in Camden and earned a bachelor’s degree in forestry from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1977.

Vestal has been a resident of Union County for nearly 32 years. He and his wife of 34 years, Janell, have two children, a son, Stephen Vestal of Huttig, and a daughter, Meredith Vestal Brooks of West Monroe, La.
