Local man involved in showdown with police appears in district court

A man who held El Dorado police officers at bay for nearly five hours after they tried to serve a felony warrant was ordered held without bond during a first appearance in Union County District Court.

Robert D. Loggins, 26, appeared before Judge George Van Hook on Friday to face a felony charge of failure to appear.

Van Hook told Loggins that his case would be bound over for further proceedings in Union County Circuit Court and that he was to be held without bond, pending trial.
