FREEMAN BEAVERT
Freeman Beavert, 89, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home.
He was born Feb. 25, 1919, in Baughton, to Virgil A. Beavert and Sallie Hoover Beavert. He was a retired roofer for Haire Roofing, loved gardening, and was an avid Bluegrass musician who once played with Elvis at the Louisiana Hayride, and was a member of North Acres Baptist Church in Magnolia. He and his band played at area nursing homes on Sunday afternoons and for special occasions. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 42 years, Helen Margaret Beavert; a son, Jerry Beavert; one brother; and two sisters. Survivors include his daughter, Shirley Faye Bennett of Smackover; three granddaughters, Sharon Pinson of El Dorado, and Mona Roberson and Margaret Parker, both of Smackover; one grandson, Gary A. Tinsley of Fayetteville; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. today at Smackover Cemetery with Bro. Mike Grissom officiating and under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. Family will receive friends at 226 Union 458 after the service.
