Lela Kaye (Perkins) Smith, 40, of Low Gap, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at her home.

The daughter of Tommy O. and Louise (Laws) Perkins, she was born April 15, 1968, in El Dorado. She was a licensed practical nurse and also worked for Wal-Mart.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marjorie Brewer and Sydney and Isabelle Reynolds; and a sister, Stacey Lynn Perkins.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Smith of Low Gap; her parents, Tom and Barbara Perkins of Jasper and Louise and Ray Wood of Fordyce; step-children, Jacob and Telena Smith of Low Gap; a brother, Tommy Perkins Jr. of El Dorado; a step-sister, Lechelle Walters of Vilonia; step-grandparents, Jack Brewer of Wickes, and Neva Johnson of Jacksonville.

Funeral was held Monday at First Baptist Church of Jasper. Interment was in Low Gap Cemetery in Low Gap under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.
