Lee Otis Meeks, 60, of Smackover, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at his home.

He was born May 9, 1948, in Lillie, La., the son of Leo and Ruthell Meeks. He was a mechanic at Babcock Auto Store for 35 years. He was a long time member of St. John Baptist Church in Lillie.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and L.C. Smith; his parents; and his brothers, Roy, Levell and Leon Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Meeks of Smackover; three sons, Mark (Felicia) Meeks of El Dorado and Patrick and Brandon Meeks of Junction City; two daughters, Lori Ann Redman of Little Rock and Stephanie Meeks of El Dorado; three sisters, Irene (John) Island of San Diego, Ruby Greer of Lillie and LaRuth Elliot of Athens, La.; two brothers, Troy (Sue) Smith of San Diego and Lester Smith of Lillie.

Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, at St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. W.L. Buggs officiating. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Homer, La.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home.

The family will be at the homes of Ruby Greer, 393 Randolph Road in Lillie and Peggy Meeks, 1303 Poplar St. in Smackover.
