James “Jim” M. Griffith, 64, of El Dorado, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock following a brief illness.

Born on July 10, 1944, in Magnolia, he was the son of Homer and Mary Miller Griffith. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in the Army in Germany during the Cold War. He graduated from Southern State College in Magnolia and worked for Rainer Office Supplies.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Helen Holly Griffith of El Dorado; a daughter, Emily Griffith of Little Rock; brothers, John Griffith of Phoenix, and Mark Griffith of Mesa, Ariz.; and sisters, Gail Selanders of Mayer, Ariz., and Marsha Griffith of Dewey, Ariz.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, in the chapel of Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado with Bishop Spencer Singleton officiating. Interment will follow in Scotland Cemetery near Junction City.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
