Verla Peacock, 87, of Monticello, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.

The daughter of William Franklin Berry and Cottie Johnson Berry, she was born Sept. 22, 1920, in Paron. She was a homemaker, and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Neal Peacock; brothers, Eugene Berry, R-Zell Berry, and E-Zell Berry; and sisters, Lella Mae Rogers and Myrtle Hilburn.

Survivors include one son, Phil Peacock of Monticello; three daughters, Nealie Bea Leggett and Earline Wells, both of Monticello, and Denise Coston of Searcy; one brother, Alvin Berry of Mesquite, Texas; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Enon Cemetery in Drew County under the direction of Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren.
